Prior to reading this book I had tried reading several books such as ‘one upon on wall Street’ , but these were very complex and the concepts not applicable to Indian stocks. I bought this on the kindle and a hard copy later ,I gave my copy to a friend to read and he bought one for himself after reading mine. The author gives very good examples and it’s written in a conversational style, there are grammatical mistakes and errors as many pointed out, but this hardly has any effect on comprehension.

What is surprising is that many investors I personally know make the mistakes that are described in the book. Reading this book has motivated me to invest in stocks and I have also subscribed to the author’s advisory services. One major drawback in the book was the chapter on Valuation is not explained clearly, it’s vague and this has no example to arrive at valuation.
Also the pages are not of good quality, again I did not find this an issue as the quality of the words more than makes up for it. I highly recommend this book.

3.It seems like author speak with me while reading.Cons:-
1. Author suggests some method of valuation of stock where he took example of few companies and provide data from past performance but such data is not matches with price on either NSE/BSE.
Example- Yes Bank
He says at page no. 104 that Yes bank was at rs 240 on December 2011 and gives 95%return on December 2012 @ 470
But in reality such price of Yes bank was not touched during that period.
There are more example of the same.
However his idea is good but not the data…But in reality stock market is all about price of stock/data.

It’s a well written book. There are some intetsting insights about certain tricks of the trade. Also, good to see some analysis of Indian stocks, and some back stories.

But somehow I can’t help but feel that it has oversimplified the analysis and selection of stocks. A short to-do list at the end could be misleading to the average beginner.

This is the author’s first book. Also, he is pretty young as an investment consuktant/ financial advisor. Somewhere I do appreciate the effort, but can’t escape the self marketing and at times pompousness of the author.

Although I may stand out for this contrarion review cos most ratings and reviews really suggest that they are floored by the book. And I do see where they are coming from. Reading this book does make one feel empowered to take the leap into stock markets.

I again reiterate that it’s a well written book, but possibly should be followed with caution

This book is a must read for everyone. It’s written straight from the heart and they say if you do anything from the heart, you can’t go wrong. What Prasenjit has tried to do through this book is to change the way we look at things in the Stock Market. Buying a Stock = Being Part owner in the business.The fact is in Life or Business – there is always ups and downs (nothing moves in Straight line). The idea is to find great companies at an early stage and if Business grows then profit grows and so does the Share Price.

Having a Stock Portfolio is like being a Part owner of 5-10 great companies in sectors which have got tail wind and expected to grow fast for next 2-3 years.This is what all Big Business people like TATA, Birla, Ambani do but sadly People don’t understand this philosophy especially the ones in Lower Income group and Middle class.

A common man gets his dose of Information or I should say Advice from Media (Newspaper/ television) and this free advice is seriously injurious to health. Please try to read 10 pages of this book every day and encourage your friends and family or your children to do the same. It doesn’t matter if they invest in stocks or not. I am 100% sure they will find some golden nuggets that can serve them for their whole life.
